Introducing The Label Collective – a new woven label subscription box from The Specky Seamstress
We are super excited to be launching a second subscription box. We know there will be loads of questions so I thought it might help to pop up a page to explain a bit more!

What Will I Receive?
The Label Collective a is a £6.50 a month (UK) ‘cheeky treat’ – a perfect bit of happy mail!
Every month, in the first week of the month, we will ship out your subscription box and it will contain 2 brand new sewing label designs.
- 3 of our ‘large’ labels
- 4 of our ‘mini’ labels
Woven in the UK in 100% recycled thread, and always in the signature Specky quirky style, with lots of colour, fun slogans and adorable icons.
These designs will not launch in the web-shop until 3 months after we ship so you’ll be the very first to receive it! Postage is included in the subscription box price as are some member goodies that will be added to some monthly boxes.
There are two different options, rolling and one-off:
- Rolling – Monthly, 6 Monthly and Annual
- 3 month upfront (great for gifts!)
Our Rolling options auto renew for each billing period, either once a month, once every six months, or once a year, depending on the option you choose. And you can pause or cancel your renewal any time from your account.
Our up-front options are just that – a one-off payment for 3 months of boxes! And we’ll drop you an email at the end to see if you want to sign up again 🙂
In each case, you need to have signed up by the last day of the preceding month to participate – i.e. whether you sign up on 1, 15, or 30 September, your first box will ship in the first week of October. If you sign up on 1 October, your first box will ship in November. You’ll receive an exclusive welcome gift in your first box too! After your first monthly payment, all future payments will be taken on 20th of the month unless you ask us for a specific date. This helps us with logistics on our side.
Please note: we are not currently able to ship to the EU or Northern Ireland due to GPSR changes; we are working to change this as fast as possible.
If I don’t sign up, will I miss out on the new designs?
Just like the Bias Tape Appreciation Society – absolutely not! This subscription box will not lock exclusive label designs behind an annual subscription paywall. It will act a bit like an ‘early access pass’, in the sense that each design sent will be available in the shop 3 months after the boxes are sent, though as packs of one design each, rather than the mixed packs that Collective members will get. We want everyone to be able to enjoy our designs and other than possibly the very odd member gift, this will remain a core part of the TLC design.
What are those other bonuses for being a member?
Members will have a free postage code that can be used for the online shop for orders that will be shipped along with your club box for the month – you can use it at any time while your subscription remains active, but orders placed using the code will be posted with your next club box. If you want your orders sooner, just place them in the regular way including paying for postage. You’ll also get access to our member newsletter, with details about member only discounts and sales.
Is there a benefit to signing up to both of your boxes?
Yes! When you add both boxes to your basket you’ll receive a discount on your box – £1 a month discount for UK and £4 a month discount for Rest of the World (this reflects our postage savings too).

What sort of designs will there be? Can I choose?
As with BTAS, there will just be one box including 2 designs per month. The designs will be a mix of everything you’d expect from Specky – bright colours, positive words and fun pictures. We’re always interested to hear what our fans would like to see in future designs – drop us an email or Instagram DM with suggestions!

Are the labels eco-friendly?
It’s absolutely critical to us at Specky to tread gently on our Earth. We only use recycled polyester in our woven labels. It’s an expensive choice for us, compared to using new polyester, but we’re not prepared to compromise on our source materials.
I don’t live in the UK – can I still be part of the club?!
Yes! As with our online shop and the BTAS, we ship worldwide – worldwide boxes are priced a little higher to cover postage costs, but will be the same designs and ship at the same time. Make sure you choose the right location for your subscription when you order, especially if you’re buying a subscription as a gift.
Can I buy a subscription as a gift?
Yes, absolutely! You are absolutely be able to buy this for someone else, as long as you have their shipping address! You can chose between a rolling membership or a one-off gift to suit your budget and gift preference.
Please double check that you put the correct shipping address in and if you want to be super-duper certain, you can always drop us an email just to make sure. Gift Cards for the website can be used towards the Society too!
